Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

Christen feels like she could sleep for years. She was telling us this evening that chemo is "very strange." It just completely wipes her out. I think it must be something that only those who have experienced it could understand. Praise God, she has not thrown up even once this time, though she has felt like sometimes. She actually ate some Chinese food this evening. What a wonderful difference this time has been so far compared with last time.

She and Debbie arrived home today about 5 PM. Each time she comes home it is difficult because she still isn't done the process. She knows she will have to go back. We are grateful, though, that she has wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff taking care of her at UVA. Our experience there has been very good (though the cancer treatments are very tough).

We can see the hand of God at work in so many ways. It is wonderful to be able to know and trust Him. He knows what He is doing.

Thank you for holding us up in your prayers and support during this time. He is certainly answering and blessing.

Welcome home, Christen. And, to you, too, Debbie. Our small group prayed for both of you to be feeling better. We will pray that you will be able to stay home, Christen, for two weeks without any trips to UVA. Your body must need that extended time of sleep, Christen, as the chemo does its job. We love you.

Praying for continued strength and that the tumor will GO AWAY!!! He is faithful to give us exactly what we need. Sleep is a good thing - your body needs to get stronger through rest. Know that our team here in Puerto Rico is praying for you! God is good, strong and more than able - Psalm 62: 1-2, 5-8 John and Sue Burch

Glory to God! Thanks be to God for His immeasurable gift. What a blessing to the mama and daddy's heart to have expected something harder, but not to have had to see their daughter suffer as much this time. Thank you for the updates. We look every day so we can pray more specifically. Your family has permeated our hearts and we love you! May the Lord bless your time together at home! May God use every moment of this journey to bring healing and glory to His name! Anne & Bob Daknis

Sleep can be such a gift, a physical resting in the Lord. The Pugh family also checks your website daily; we pray for Christen's healing and for the ramifications on the family.

We also pray for moments of love and laughter in between the very real struggles.

Love in the Lamb,
Kathryn
